Endre
The Kapcsándy family moved to Napa to pursue Lou Kapcsándy's retirement dream, the Kapcsándy Family Winery, which Lou runs with his wife, Bobbie, and son, Louis. In 1999, the Kapcsándy family purchased Beringer’s old State Lane Vineyard that Beringer used for decades to produce their Private Reserve. The Kapcsándy family completely replanted it, and brought in well-known Bordelais Denis Malbec (of Château Latour) to work with Californian Rob Lawson to craft undeniable Bordeaux-styled blends of elegance and longevity.
2008
“The 2008 Endre (a similar blend with slightly less Cabernet Sauvignon) reveals an elegant nose of licorice, white chocolate, espresso, herbs, black currants and blackberries, soft, silky tannins and abundant fruit. It is ideal for drinking during its first decade of life.”

2010
“The less expensive 2010 Endre (53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot and the rest Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc aged in both French and Hungarian oak) is very Bordeaux like. Notes of bouquet garni, red and black currants and loamy soil are present in this medium-bodied wine that seems to be a faster evolving effort than its siblings. With excellent texture as well as an elegant style, and I use that word in a positive sense, it should drink well for 10-15 years.”

2011
"The less expensive 2011 Endre is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with some Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc included in the blend…. Slightly herbaceous with a berry-scented nose displaying hints of roasted herbs and earth.....”
