In fairy tales, there is always a princess and a castle...
Here, on the heights of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Anne-Charlotte Mélia Bachas is not a princess like the others. She comes from a line of talented winemakers. It must be said that in the middle of the pebbles warmed by the sun of Provence, the Mélia family feels itself growing roots for 4 generations now.
It is in the south of the Rhone Valley, in the heart of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation,
that the Château de La Font du Loup is revealed in its green setting. A true marvel of architecture, the castle was built right next to the spring that gives its name to the estate. Legend has it that the wolves of Mont Ventoux, after descending into the plain, came to drink here.
The Font du Loup actually means the Fountain of the Wolves.

Our vineyard benefits from ideal conditions for the maturity of the grapes.
A terroir mainly of sand, a natural source, the influence of the Mistral,
are harmoniously balanced with a beautiful sunshine throughout the year.
Our vines flourish with the greatest respect for ecosystems and biodiversity.
Respect for the environment as well as the desire to produce the healthiest wines possible are essential values at Château de La Font du Loup, currently certified HVE (High Environmental Value) 3. We have been engaged in organic farming since Spring 2021.

The emblematic cuvée of Château de la Font du Loup, a blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah and Cinsault, will highlight a floral side and a great freshness thanks to a soil composed mainly of sand located on a very cold terroir at the top of the Crau, an altitude that exceeds 120 meters.

The Puy Rolland is a plot of one piece at the top of the Crau composed only of centenary vines. A terroir consisting mainly of a sandy soil dating from the Pliocene era (5.3 million years ago) where we find some of the famous pebbles of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. An alliance that represents the very expression of the terroir of the Font du Loup.

An alliance that represents the very expression of the terroir of the Font du Loup.
