The vineyard is located in the commune of Ordonnac which is 4 km north of St. Estéphe along the Gironde. Classified Bordeaux Superior. Grape Variety 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon.

“This is perfumy and very pure, with lovely lilac and blackberry aromas followed by plum, cassis and black cherry fruit. The supple finish is caressed with toast that leaves a lingering, perfumy feel. Best from 2013 through 2023.”

The estate is a small, single vineyard property from the left-bank commune of Medoc. It is a family property bought in the 70s by Peter and Paulette Sallette. In 1988 Jose and Lucette Sallette resumed the operations and early vines were planted that saw the creation of the cellar that year. Expansion and improvement of infrastructure was carried out for many years and today the expanded property comprises of 25hectares. In 2005 the property received the certificate of “Sustainable Agriculture”. In 2008 after decades of work Chateau Pierre de Montignac was established in the Crus Bourgeois of Médoc.

Grape Variety: 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 46% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot
Tasting Notes: Dark ruby in color with a medium to medium+ nose. A nice mid level Boudreaux from Médoc at a moderate price. Positives: Cedar, cassis, blackcurrants, turmeric, pencil shavings, cherry, arugula and leather. Medium+ body with medium+ tannins, good acidity and a long length.
