Château De Fieuzal
Pessac-Léognan
Bordeaux
Bordeaux
The origins of Château de Fieuzal date back as far as the first stirrings of winemaking in Bordeaux’s Graves region, named for its thin, gravel-studded soil. The estate, which is in the Pessac-Léognan appellation of Graves, sits on one of the best gently sloping, gravel outcrops in the area – long admired for its excellent drainage and heat diffusing properties.
In 2001 Irish wine lovers, Brenda and Lochlann Quinn, bought Fieuzal. Their goal is to carefully tread the ever-evolving line between continuous technical improvements in winemaking and vine growing, and, maintaining the essential Graves nature of Fieuzal’s wines. Their judicious investments in the vineyards and winery have considerably raised the standard of Fieuzal’s wines and helped them regain their élan.
Grape Variety: 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc.

Château De Fieuzal 2009
"A terrific, classic Graves with notes of subtle smoke, black raspberries, black currants, graphite and unsmoked cigar tobacco, this full-bodied, deep, concentrated de Fieuzal is far more generous and deep than most vintages of the past.”

Tasting Note: "Quite open, with singed tobacco leaf, bay and alder notes leading the way for mulled plum and red currant fruit. A tangy espresso accent checks in on the finish." Wine Spectator
Château Pape-Clément
Pessac-Léognan
Bordeaux
Bordeaux
Château Pape Clément is one of the oldest Grands Crus of Bordeaux. His vineyard - the first harvests took place in 1252 - was implemented in the XIIth century by Bertrand de Goth, younger of a noble family from Bordeaux region. Archbishop of Bordeaux, Bertrand de Goth became Pope in 1305 under the name of Clement V. This is where the Château inherited its name from and its wine became an icon.
In the 1980s, Bernard Magrez, an entrepreneur passionate about wine, took over the Château and built an unprecedented international reputation for the Grand Cru Classé. Ever since, Bernard Magrez has deployed every means possible to ensure that Château Pape Clément's exceptional terroir continues to flourish through time and to express the finesse that has made its wines so famous.

Pape Clément Blanc 2010
“A blend of 51% Sauvignon Blanc, 33% Semillon and the rest Sauvignon Gris, this wine has staggering aromatics of orange blossom, lemon custard, pineapple and mango. Exotic, rich and full-bodied, it should drink nicely for at least 10 -15 years or more.”

Château Smith Haut Lafitte 2009
“The finest wine ever made by proprietors Daniel and Florence Cathiard, the 2009 Smith-Haut-Lafitte exhibits an opaque blue/purple color in addition to a glorious nose of acacia flowers, licorice, charcoal, blueberries, black raspberries, lead pencil shavings and incense. This massive, extraordinarily rich, unctuously textured wine may be the most concentrated effort produced to date, although the 2000, 2005 and 2010 are nearly as prodigious. A gorgeous expression of Pessac-Leognan with sweet tannin, emerging charm and delicacy, and considerable power, depth, richness and authority, it should age effortlessly for 30-40+ years. Bravo!”
