Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux

Arnoux-Lachaux

Burgundy
For five generations, the Arnoux-Lachaux family have been stewards of exceptional terroir in the heart of the Cotes de Nuits.  Now managed by Pascal Lachaux who took over from his father-in-law, in 1995. Although always good, the quality of this domaine's wines have soared during the last 8 years under Pascal's tenure. He has initiated a policy of no fining or filtering, and an organic and biodynamic approach (he racks when the moon's descending, weeds when it's rising).  Any damaged or unripe fruit is dropped from the vines before harvesting. The grapes are destemmed then fermented with pumping over and splashing (délestage) rather than punching down, so as not to damage the pips.
Britain’s leading Burgundy scholar - Remington Norman MW -“This is one of the very best domains.”

Bourgogne Pinot Fin, 2013
"From 60+ year old vines based on the original pinot fin strain that is so highly regarded today. Blended from vines across Chambolle-Musigny, Vosne Romanée and Nuits Saint-Georges- with 1er Cru vines included. Due to the mix, the Pinot Fin must be classified as a “village” wine. The resulting wines are a phenomenal value & quality on par with many Premier Cru Burgundies. “There is lovely complexity for a wine at this level with its layered aromas of red berries, earth and soft spice nuances…"

Chambolle Musigny, 2013 | Vines – 45 year
Chambolle Musigny is produced from five parcels located at the top of Chambolle’s slopes. “Aromatically elegant with its cool and pure aromas of essence of red berries and lilac scents.”
Burghound Score: 90PTS

Echezeaux Grand Cru, 2010 | Vines 60 years
"The Echezeaux Grand Cru is crafted from vines located in the heart of Echezeaux. “There is fine richness to the pure and silky medium-bodied flavors that caress the palate with an abundance of the gorgeously complex finish.”
Burghound Score: 94PTS

Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru, 2013
“A brooding and reserved nose only grudgingly gives up its intensely floral array of red and dark currant aromas that enjoy added breadth in the form of green tea, earth and humus nuances.”

Nuits St. Georges, 2013
‘There is a floral hint adding elegance to the mix of red currant and dark raspberry aromas. The attractively textured medium-bodied flavors are shaped by relatively fine tannins for a Nuits villages.”

Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Procès, 2013 | Vines 40 years
“A well-layered blend of both red and black pinot fruit, earth, spice and floral elements. The flavors possess richness as well as good volume before concluding in a more powerful and complex finale.”
Burghound Score: 92PTS

Vosne-Romanée, 2013 | Vines 50 years
